Synopsis

Book Four: "The Day She Died" Written by Kurt Busiek and painted by Alex Ross, Marvels is a four-issue miniseries. It focuses on the thoughts of a news photographer named Phil Sheldon, and therefore shows Marvel's history through his eyes, and the eyes of the public. "So some of us belittled the Marvels. That wasn't important. They weren't here to win the approval of the petty and small-minded. They were here to save the innocent-" "-To save people like Gwen." They are the giants that walk among us; heroes and monsters; saviors and men. They are the Marvels, and to photographer Phil Sheldon, they are the embodiment of mankind's greatest aspirations. But as his fervor for them turns to obsession, he begins a quest through the life of New York's most amazing enigma, the creature called Spider-Man. It is a journey promising fame and redemption for the heroes he loves, but which may end in terror and tragedy. MARVELS You've never lived anything like it. The second printing cover does not have an acetate overlay double cover like the original.
